With its spectacular purple colour, that ranges from deep violet to light lilac, it complements both warm and cool colours. Derived from the Greek word “Amethustos” it roughly translates to “sober” or “not intoxicated”. The ancient Greeks and Romans believed Amethyst would ward off the intoxicating powers of Bacchus; God of Wine and Agriculture, keeping them clear-headed.
