Citrine
A member of the Quartz family, Citrine is a translucent silicon dioxide mineral. Colours range from pale yellow to amber and dark orange. The name Citrine is derived from the French word 'citron' which means lemon, a reference to its sunny hue.

Due to its rarity, a large amount of Citrine is made of heat treated Amethyst, which produces a noticeably darker colour than the naturally occurring paler yellow. In fact, Citrine gemstones are known to fade if left in direct sunlight. It is generally found in parts of Africa, Brazil,  France, Spain, Scotland, Russia, and the USA.
This warm gemstone is the secondary birthstone for November, although its uplifting powers are most suited to Aries, Gemini, Leo and Libra star signs. Said to channel the energy of sun rays, it's no surprise Citrine brings warmth, comfort and confidence through the Solar Plexus chakra, whilst encouraging balance and clarity through the Sacral and Third Eye chakras. It is also commonly known to help release stress and tension with its gentle grounding through the Root chakra.
